Sarah Milne

Delivery lead and facilitator of the NPQSEND

After graduating from Keele University with a BA (Hons) degree in French/German and Music, Sarah completed a PGCE (again at Keele) and later her NASENCo at the University of Birmingham.  With a keen interest in research, Sarah completed a part-time Masters in Research, focussing on twentieth century music in interwar France whilst working full-time as a teacher.  She has taught in Germany, France and England and has worked across the primary and secondary phase, teaching up to Year 13.  Since 2006, Sarah’s work in schools has been as either a middle or senior leader.  In more recent years, Sarah has held a trust-wide executive leadership role, leading safeguarding, SEND and inclusion teams across the trust’s family of schools.  Sarah chairs one of the Staffordshire SEND and Inclusion hubs – a role that she really enjoys and has held since the inception of the concept across the local authority; she enjoys the strategic world of SEND and working with stakeholders to develop systems and processes which have children at their core.  Sarah is currently seconded two days a week to a secondary school within the trust as interim head of school.  With a keen interest in supporting schools to explore the impact that their Christian vision and values have on whole school strategic development, Sarah works with the trust’s Christian distinctiveness / ethos leaders in order to support them as Church school leaders of the future.  Outside of work, Sarah is usually found enjoying time with her daughter at the theatre, in a theme park, or taking a walk in the local countryside – this is, of course, when she isn’t in the parents’ room waiting for dance lessons to finish!

Adam pursued my NPQSL and was eager to extend support to others. Currently,  he is involved in delivering the NPQLT, and the new content has sparked his interest in pursuing the NPQH.
