The Trust drive a culture of compliance, ensuring risks are understood, well-managed and treated appropriately.

We partner with Rhino Safety to provide leaders, Trustees and Governors the reassurance that they are complying with statutory Health and Safety legislation.

The core services offered by Rhino Safety are:

  • Appointment of Rhino Safety Limited to act as “Competent Person” as required by Regulation 7 of the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations
  • Initial safety audit and production of a management report for academy sites
  • Review/Production of all internal Health and Safety policy and procedures
  • Telephone and email support regarding any Health and Safety issues (9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday)
  • Production of Risk Assessments and Method Statements
  • Support and assistance in relation to RIDDOR, accident reporting and investigation
  • Implementation of self-assessment Display Screen Assessments for all computer users
  • Production of any other related forms/templates (PPE register, Driving Licence, Racking Inspection, Audit etc.)
  • Free initial consultation with our recommended solicitor to assist in the unlikely event of an accident claim or prosecution by the Health and Safety Executive
  • Production and implementation of a Fire Risk Assessment for academy sites
  • Production of COSHH assessments for any hazardous chemicals you use
  • Completing the Health and Safety sections of any Tenders or Pre-Qualification Questionnaires
  • Keep academies up to date with any regulatory changes via our regular newsletter
  • Quarterly proactive safety catch-up calls on the phone or via Zoom with a consultant
  • Sixty individual online training courses available via the Rhino portal (Manual Handling, Fire Marshal, COSHH etc.)
  • Full End of Term Health & Safety and Fire Audit (with support for actions)
  • Contractor and Regulation Support for any amendments or works on the academy premises
  • Review/Production of the Fire Strategy for academies

In addition, the Trust will support academies with:

  • The Every/iris compliance portal for all premises and health and safety checks
  • Support in reviewing health and safety audits and action plans
  • Support and assistance for the Academy Site Managers or equivalent role
  • Access to a range of health and safety training via The National College
